Amanda C. Ragon, D.V.M., Diplomate, American College of Theriogenologists
Dr.
Ragon is originally from Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from Dartmouth College
and received her D.V.M. from The Ohio State University.
She completed her residency training in equine theriogenology at Michigan State University. She was awarded board certification in 1995 and is a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists.
Her practice is limited to the reproductive medical needs of the mare and stallion.
Specific areas of interest include treatment of the subfertile mare and stallion,
semen evaluation and freezing, and the assessment and management of twin and
high-risk pregnancy.
Dr. Ragon is a member of the American College of Theriogenologists, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Society for Theriogenology, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
She has published several articles on equine reproduction, including textbook chapters on the management of twin pregnancy in the mare, and pregnancy termination.
Dr. Ragon lives in Williamston, Michigan, with her husband, Perry, who is also an equine veterinarian, and their three sons.
