MareStud StallThroughout the duration of their stay at Equine Fertility Specialties, your horse will receive superior daily care. Whether your horse is here for a week, a month, or the entire breeding season, we strive to maintain each horse’s “normal” routine as much as possible.

Horses are stalled in twelve by twelve foot stalls which are cleaned daily. Each stall has a barred window provided for your horse’s socialization needs. Every stall has a fan for the summer months. All paddocks and stalls are equipped with sturdy hay and grain feeders, which are cleaned regularly.

Each horse is fed individually, according to their body type and energy requirements. We will gladly accommodate special requests regarding hay, grain, supplements, etc. We stock a variety of feeds, ranging from sweet oats to performance pellets, senior feed or any form of concentrate your horse may need. Either alfalfa or grass hay is available. Fresh, clean water is always readily available in stalls, paddocks and pastures. During the winter months, premium heated water buckets are furnished in every stall.

Horses are turned out daily, either in individual paddocks, or on grass pasture, depending on your horse’s individual needs. Many stalls have run-out doors leading to individual paddocks, making them ideal for mares with young foals. Pasture boarding is also available.

Insect repellent is applied to mature patients consistently throughout the course of the summer months. Of course, if you prefer a particular repellent product or none at all, we will gladly comply with your wishes. We provide regular vaccinations and anthelmintics as needed, and farrier services all year long. Because Dr. Ragon lives next door, veterinary emergency care is available 24 hours a day. Our goal is to ensure the utmost quality physical as well as mental care for your horse throughout the course of their stay with us.
